ðžIn anticipation of the arrival of spring in Japan, my friend Risa and I hosted a tea party yesterday to celebrate âSakuraâ and âHinamatsuri (Girlâs festival)â . I invited friends interested in Japanese culture.
In keeping with the traditions of the tea ceremony, we began by serving âCha-Kaiseki,â a light meal served before tea. Risaâs dishes are beautiful to look at, elegant and delicately seasoned. Everyone enjoyed them while chatting with each other.
After the meal, Japanese sweets were served. I talked about the history and culture of tea in Japan. Risa performed a tea ceremony, involving the guests in making tea.
It was a beautiful and fulfilling time.
