ðžNamaste Fukuoka, a festival that has been held annually since 2016 by Indian and Japanese volunteers living in Fukuoka. After the pandemic, the festival was held yesterday for the first time in four years. The stage was crowded with Bollywood dances and other performances, as well as Indian food and shop stalls. Blessed with fine weather, the festival was filled with a lively atmosphere!
Despite the cold weather, I wore a long-sleeved shirt and a Kyoto Yuzen saree. It was a fun time, as I was approached by people we had interacted with through social media.
Although it was already past the time of full bloom, I was able to see cherry blossoms. This is the first time since 1996 that I have actually seen cherry blossoms in Japan. I was deeply moved.
